Here is the World.

"Here is the world. Beautiful and terrible things will happen. Don't be afraid."
— Frederick Buechner

I'm a writer obsessed with anthropology and nature shows. Also dragons. And I wrote a book called CITY OF A THOUSAND DOLLS (HarperCollins, 2013) about a girl in a caste-based society who has to solve a murder. This is where I get my ideas.

REBLOG TO SUPPORT RUE AND CINNA

Recently the actors who play Rue and Cinna have come under attack from Racist fans of the Hunger Games. Reblog if you support the casting of Amandla Stenberg, the adorable and talented actress who plays Rue, and Lenny Kravitz, the unquestionable genius who plays Cinna.

http://www.eonline.com/news/hunger_games_lenny_kravitz_amandla/304193?cmpid=sn-000000-twitterfeed-365-top_stories&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=twitterfeed_celebrities_top_stories&dlvrit=79438

Amandla Stenberg’s Rue was gloriously, perfectly, exactly as I imagined her, in all her heartbreaking sweetness. And Cinna I had not imagined as black when reading the book because it said he had green eyes and his skin colour wasn’t mentioned, but now I am cursing myself for my lack of imagination because Lenny Kravitz was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and will now be Cinna in my head forevermore.

Not that I expect reblogging this is going to change the minds of racist idiots who think white actors should have been cast in these roles just like white actors were cast in practically every other role in the entire movie and also in practically every major role in every movie ever, but I just want to repost their beautiful faces, so there.
